Cymbella. Journal of research and communication on algae.
Cymbella is the journal of the Mexican Society of Phycology and aims to give information about the algae in a digital format with open access (web and pdf, available in http://cymbella.mx).
Original articles, reviews, communication articles, opinions, research notes, book reviews, dissertation abstracts, methodological approaches, additional information on formal publications, etc. will be published These materials will be evaluated by the editors, thematic editorial board and ad hoc referees. The general policy of the journal is to ensure that all articles are published and for that committees and reviewers will suggest corrections to improve the proposals.
The text may be written in Spanish, Portuguese or English.The material can be reproduced as long as the source is acknowledged.
It is suggested to follow the general format that is presented in the numbers already published for each type of text. The works must be sent electronically to one of the members of the Responsible Editorial Committee with the complete details of the corresponding author (Name, institution, postal and electronic address and contact telephone numbers) and the emails of all the co-authors.The texts should be sent in docx, doc or rtf format (Microsoft Word), in a single column, without format or justification. Geographic coordinates must be in degrees, minutes, seconds. The explanations of figures and tables will be placed at the end of the references (on a separate page). The figures must be sent in tiff or jpg format without compression, with a resolution of 300 dpi and slightly larger than the required dimensions, the annotations within them must have a size equivalent to 11 or 12 pts. at the time of reproduction. Do not send figures included in the texts or figures in pdf format.

The extension of all texts is free and it is suggested to consider a 40% original artwork, including graphs; we invite authors to send extra pictures to illustrate the entire publication.

Citations in the text are alphabetically first and then in chronological order, and if more than two authors use et al. year (no comma). References are ordered alphabetically and chronologically in the following format:
